AALANA week is filled with may events for RIT students! Ever think about starting your own business, but wanting to get more information as to how to begin? Ever think about the challenges to face when doing so? The Minority Business Panel is presented to you by both SMBA and AALANA! Three guest speakers, Farah Sammour, Justin Ortiz, and Chris Thomas, will be joining us for the evening where they discuss their business ventures as well as answering your questions. These business people range from fields of software development to visual arts to real estate! Mark your calendars to join us on April 5, 2016 in Slaughter Hall, room 2150 from 5:00 to 6:30PM! Food will be provided and a networking event will be held afterwards.
This years election has been one of the most relevant and controversial topics of discussion on news platforms, social media, and more! The Primary elections play an immense part in electing our next President. On April 19, 2016 New Yorkers have the chance to participate in the Primary Elections, which means if you are an RIT Student and still need to register to vote in the state of New York then make sure you do so by the 25th of March! Remember you MUST declare a party affiliation! GO OUT AND VOTE! EVERY VOTE COUNTS! Interested in seeing the world, learning new things, and studying abroad? A Summer abroad in Pristina, Kosovo may be just the experience for you! You'll get the chance to learn about politics, history, and economics of conflict situations taught by former diplomats, journalists, and other academic specialists! Thursday, March 3 Noon – 1:00 pm & 5:30 – 6:30 pm is the next info session! The application deadline is April 1, 2016!
